10 New Board Games is a collection of rules for people interested in boardgames. I enjoyed it mainly because I am a Game Designer myself, and I am always interested in new designs. I was pleased with the variety of the games, ranging from abstract designs to dice games, to some strategy/tactical ones.But one might want the book to play the games themselves. If that's your case, I must warn that you will have a little bit of work ahead, since most of the games have boards that must be printed and/or pieces to be assembled.
The book also have sections with the importance of boardgames, the different kinds of games and the personal history of the author's relationship with gaming. Although enjoyable, in my opinion they make up for optional reading, and should probably be placed at the end of the book (where some of these parts already are, anyway).
